Blessy Mathew Brief Bio

Hi! My name is Blessy Mathew, and thanks for stopping by. I'm a writer of young adult fiction and picture books, and I especially love writing fantasy for young adults. My writing to date focuses on multiculturalism with the hope of nurturing in children, compassion for people of different backgrounds. I graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts Writing for Children and Young Adults Program in July 2010. I received a Writing for Children Certification from the University of Washington-Seattle.

I am also a certified elementary school teacher in Texas and Washington. I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with minors in English and Music from the University of Houston, Houston, TX. I was born in New York and raised in Houston, TX to immigrant parents from India. I lived in Austin, TX for almost ten years, and now live in Seattle, Washington. I enjoy music, reading, writing, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
